Once we talk with you, answer questions and find out a little
about you, assuming a sale of a pup happens, you have 24 hours
to return the pup for any reason, but you will forfeit your
security deposit of $200 as well as any transportation costs.
The rest of the money will be refunded assuming the puppy is
received back in the same condition it left and all paperwork is
returned with the pup.
We CERF test our dogs for
cataracts, despite this, it is possible for a
puppy to develop a cataract. We will replace a pup that goes
blind due to juvenile cataracts within the first 2 years of
life, although this is very rare. We cannot guarantee against
cataracts because although we will only breed dogs whose CERF
test has shown them to be clear of hereditary cataracts, there
is no test for carrier dogs in this breed. No one has any way
of knowing how many of their dogs may be carriers. We strive to
be responsible in our breeding program by doing our testing, but
due to the lack of a carrier test, we are unable to guarantee
that no pup produced will ever develop a hereditary cataract. In
most cases a pet buyer will never know if their pup gets a
cataract. You cannot see it by looking at the dog and in most
cases it comes on slowly, so if there is any vision loss, the
dog sort of gradually adjusts to it. As a pet owner you won't
see the cataract and in most cases will not see the effects. As
long as the pup was not purchased for breeding, this condition
usually has little effect on a pet owner. Therefore, we test out
dogs and our guarantee will cover blindness that provably was
brought on by a hereditary cataract within the first two years
of life.Should this occur within the first
2 years of the pup’s life and be verified by two qualified vets
that the pup has juvenile cataracts which lead to blindness, the
pup will be exchanged for a puppy of the same sex and similar
quality as determined by the seller, from the next available
litter. All paperwork must be returned with the puppy and the
vet exams are at the buyer’s expense as well as any
transportation costs involved with returning the pup and
receiving a new puppy.
We also replace a puppy if there is
any congenital defects that impair the quality of the dog’s life. This follows the same guidelines
as stated above.
We do not cover hip dysplasia.
Although we test our breeding stock through OFA. It is
impossible to tell if hip dysplasia is hereditary or caused by
the buyer and their environment or actions. If you feed a poor
quality food, it may cause hip dysplasia. If someone slaps the
butt on their pup when potty training, they could damage a hip.
If a pup took a fall off a porch or tumbled down some steps, it
could cause it. If you start training for sledding too early or
in an improper manner, it could bring on hip dyspasia. A poor
fitting harness while sledding, can also cause this as well as
many other possibilities. So, while we do our testing to insure
our part has been done, we cannot guarantee against hip
dysplasia because we have no control over what a buyer may do
after they get their pup home that could possibly promote hip
dysplasia. We guarantee that the puppy you
receive has had all vaccinations and de-wormings that are
appropriate for it’s age at the time of sale. We also state that
any pup sold, is in good health, to the best of our knowledge,
at the time of sale.
We state that the sire and dam of
the pup you receive have no verified hereditary issues. Each
puppy is socialized and we use neuro-stimulation techniques to
help insure the best development for each puppy.
Pups are held until 7 to 8 weeks of
age to help them get the best start. They will have been wormed
every 2 weeks and will have received their first 5-way
vaccination before leaving.
This guarantee does not cover
ongoing routine vet care and such things as intestinal upsets or
bacteria that may be brought on by the stress of a move or
changes in food or environment. This may cause diarrhea, which
is generally treatable with a week of medication.
We also make a guarantee to each
puppy that should the owner not be able to keep a dog purchased
from us due to unforeseen circumstances such as health issues,
death, divorce, sudden move etc., we will accept the dog back at
any time during the life of the dog. We will attempt to re-home
the dog for you and if that is not possible, we will take care
of this dog until it passes away.
We do not guarantee coat color,
coat length or eye color. Generally speaking, eye color will be
known at the time of placement. Some coat colors, we know will
stay as seen at the time of placement, but some will change and
we will give you our best opinion as to whether the coat will do
any changing.
We do
not breed specifically for eye color. We more gear our breeding
to improvement in conformation and structure as well as
temperament. However, we do not get offended by people
requesting blue eyes. This is one of the attributes of a
Siberian Husky that is somewhat unique to this breed and some
people want a pet to love but have a coat or eye color
preference. Accommodating this preference is usually fairly
easy. We will do the best we can to make this purchase fun and
to insure a good experience, both for you and your new puppy.
