There are temperature guidelines.
The temperature cannot be below 10 degrees nor above 80 degrees
at any point along the route of the plane. This may cause delays
in the time you were hoping to receive your pup.
Puppies are shipped in an airline
approved pet carrier, which becomes yours. All instructions for
picking up your pup, where to go and what to bring, will be gone
over with you, both by e-mail and by phone. It is really fairly
easy.
It is a 6 hour round trip for us to
take a puppy to the airport in
Minneapolis to be shipped. At this
time, we do not charge you for this trip. The cost of shipping
is $300 to $350 IF the puppy leaves at 8 weeks old. This cost covers the
pet carrier, the health check and the cost of the flight. As
prices go up, we may have to increase this. Also, if the pup is
older, say 12 weeks, there will be additional cost. The carrier
we must purchase for shipping will be larger and therefore more
expensive plus the weight of the dog and size of the carrier
will cause the flight ticket to be higher. So, shipping costs
will go up accordingly. We will let you know of any increases.
The puppy and the cost of shipping
must be paid in full, 2 weeks before shipping. No puppy will be
sent before full payment is received.
We use Delta
Airlines to ship our puppies. if we cannot find a direct flight
or we use another airline that is climate controlled but has a
layover, we will discuss this with the customer first, but at
all times, the welfare of the pup is our primary concern. We have to follow airline rules.
Puppies cannot be shipped before 8 weeks of age. They will be
shipped to the closest live animal receiving airport to your
address. We try to use non-stop flights.
